What is the test?
Ultrasonography Guided Prostatic Biopsy, also known as TRUS Biopsy, is a procedure used to obtain tissue samples from the prostate gland for diagnostic purposes. Test Procedure:
During the procedure, the patient lies on their side, and an ultrasound probe is inserted into the rectum to visualize the prostate gland. The urologist then uses the ultrasound images to guide the biopsy needle precisely into different areas of the prostate to collect tissue samples. The collected samples are sent to a pathology laboratory for examination under a microscope.
When to take the test?

Who should take this test?
Men with abnormal PSA levels or suspicious findings on a digital rectal examination may be advised to undergo Ultrasonography Guided Prostatic Biopsy. It is especially recommended for those at higher risk of prostate cancer, including older men or those with a family history of prostate cancer.
